Coastal Track Worimi - $625

There's something special about the beginning of a bush walk. The path disappears into the trees, the sounds of everyday life fade away, and all that's left is the enjoyment of the moment.

Coastal Track Worimi

Storms have a habit of making the coastline even more beautiful. The sky grows heavier, the water changes colour and the whole beach seems to fall quiet. There's something about standing on the shore as the weather rolls in that makes everything else feel wonderfully unimportant. It's the kind of scene you don't rush through—you simply watch.

Storm at Dutchies

Grey skies don't always mean gloomy days. Sometimes they're the perfect excuse to head outside, breathe deeply and enjoy the softer side of the landscape. The colours become richer, the air feels fresher and the world seems just a little quieter. It's the sort of morning that reminds you slowing down isn't time wasted.

Grey Morning

You can almost smell the rain before it arrives. The wind changes, the birds grow quieter and the bush seems to hold its breath for a moment. Dark clouds gather overhead while the colours below become brighter than ever. It's one of those rare moments where nature asks you to stop walking, look around and simply be present.

Storm Coming

You can never quite see what's around the next bend, and that's part of the joy. The track gently pulls you forward while the distant sound of the ocean reminds you you're getting closer. Every visit feels familiar, yet somehow different. The light changes, the bush changes, and so do you. It's a path many locals know, but it never feels quite the same twice.

Track to One Mile

The best part of an early walk is the feeling that you've arrived before everyone else. The air is cool, the bush is waking up and the only sounds are birds overhead and your footsteps on the track. Looking up through the trees, the sky seems endless. It's a quiet reminder that some of life's best moments don't need to be planned—they just need a little time.

Morning Walk

You catch your first glimpse of the sea through the trees and almost instinctively stop. It's not a dramatic view, but somehow that's exactly why it stays with you.

Quiet Horizon I

These rugged sandstone cliffs have stood through countless storms, tides and changing seasons. They don't demand attention—they simply exist, weathered and resilient. Standing nearby, it's hard not to wonder how many people have stopped in this very spot before you, taking in the same view and finding the same sense of calm.

Artist Statement

Bush walking is my personal salve and antidote to the chaos of the world. Moving through the coastal bush near my home, I settle into a rhythm of walking and looking, becoming increasingly attuned to change—both in the environment and within myself.

My senses calm and sharpen.

This series of paintings respond to my experience of that landscape - the dense green tangle of foliage and limbs, the steadying sea horizon, mostly on cold, drizzly days — my favourite conditions for walking and painting.
